Horses
At Tipperary Mountain Trekking Centre we use Monty Roberts' and Kelly Marks' methods of communicating through equine behavioural psychology and positive reinforcement, in the training and management of our horses and ponies. These methods also involve natural horsemanship techniques, which focus on gentle riding and kind handling. We are dedicated to helping our riders understand how to communicate sensitively with horses so that they can interact and ride happily, confidently and effectively. Over 20 horses and ponies live at the Centre. They include brood mares and youngsters we have bred ourselves, as well as show-jumpers and riding school horses and ponies to suit all ages and levels of riding ability. From our show-jumpers to our schoolmasters, they are friendly and well mannered and enjoy human company. Whether you are an experienced rider or a first timer, we will be able to find a horse or pony suitable for your needs.
