Located in the ancient province of Munster,
Tipperary
is famed for its history, its lush green countryside and its
rolling hills.
The surroundings to Tipperary Mountain Trekking
Centre at Rusheen are no exception. Set in the foothills of
the Slieve Felim, Silvermines, and Devil's Bit mountain ranges,
there are plenty of opportunities for people who prefer their
own two feet to our horses' four hooves.
The area is excellent for hill walking, with the Black Hill
(1,100 ft above sea level) a challenging walk through the
pastures at the rear of Rusheen House. From its summit your
view will roam over nine counties and include the beautiful
Slieve Felim, Slivermines and Slieve Bloom mountain ranges,
the
Devil's Bit Mountain, the Galtees, Slievenamon, and Keeper
Hill.
We also actively support the Upperchurch Hill-Walking Group.
Guided walks over way-marked loops are organised for the
last Sunday in each month.
In addition, the Group organises an annual national Hill-Walking
Festival for the first weekend in every November. For more

Other local walks include the Devil's Bit mountain, the Keeper
Hill Walk, and the Silvermines
